Sheikh Faisal Museum - The best museum in Qatar

13 March 2011 - Sheikh Faisal Al Thani Museum

We went there with Mr Hasmin family. I wanted to go long time before but had no chance and I'm happy I managed to bring my family there. Its worth the time spent there.

Absolutely Sheikh Faisal museum is the best museum in Qatar after Islamic Museum.

Everybody should go there if had chance.

Qatar National Day - 18 December 2010

10 years ago, not many people knows Qatar. That time this country was like isolated from the world map, only few with strong heart will come here, like was nothing to proud off. Yes indeed Qatar was just one little Gulf country with a little oil reserve but huge abandoned Gas reserve. But short after Emir Hamad Khalifa Al Thani became the King and Ruler of Qatar he develope the country massively, and within 25 years of reign, Qatar had became the Richest country (according to GDP per capita) and largest producer of Liquefied Natural Gas in the world. And after winning the rights to host the World Cup 2022, Qatar seems to became famous Gulf Country with glamourous identity.

For information about Qatar please visit Wiki, I always loves wiki ...

Not to be confused with Independent Day.

Now more worker will come to Qatar, for realising the vision to host the next 3 World Cup and to be developed country.

Now people only sees the glamourous Qatar, but not the history. Only by history people can understand this country background and sense of belonging to their second country. (congratulation to Malaysian Team for winning the first ever National Day Quiz)

Anda kenal bendera apa ni?

Ni lah bendera Persekutuan Tanah Melayu 1948 hingga 1963 ...

Qatar won the bid for hosting World Cup 2022

Qatar won the bidding for hosting the 2022 World Cup. The decision made last night by FIFA executive committee at Zurich. That means Qatar will start developing the infrastructure including five new stadiums as promised.
At present there are still not adequate infrastructure to handle the event, but Qatar have lot of money to make it happen.

Before you made a conclusion about this, better to see their presentation to FIFA.

THE WINTER IN QATAR

When I was first arrived here i was surpise that this country has a winter season, I dont know that sometimes in the season, the temperature can get to 10 degrees celcius. That is very cold for me. The winter season starts from November and the temperature gradually decreased until season's peak on January and the season end in March. Rain will pour down during this season, which is estimated around 10 day per year only.

In this season, all the recreational and sports activities was compacted and people have to pick and choose what event they want to. So many interesting event, internationaly, localy or within the community only. This coming 17/11/2010 there will be friendly match between Brazil and Argentina, the tickets sold out and I wasnt have chance to watch. But no problem, there will be next to come, just suit yourself to the condition.

Sepetang di Al Khor dan Dhakira

Kami suka jalan jalan waktu petang sambil makan angin dan bermain.
Kampung kami tak lah semeriah mana tapi kami suka kampung kami.

Disini kami perlu banyak bersabar.

Is it worth to work in Middle East?

Assalamualaikum,

Many of my friend ask me whether Qatar is good for future sake. This popular question, I had no specific answer. But the main point to consider is;

1. The wages are higher compare to Home Country, depends on your position, normally for senior staff the amount are much higher and comfortable. For non-senior staff the amount just a bit higher than 10k mark. Depend on yourself to save for your old age.
2. Challenges are another important things to think of. Working with mostly Indian citizen, upon not very convenience comparing to Malaysian working ethics. Some people frustrated and went home.
3. Middle east was a desert country. No river, no waterfall, no jungle to catch birds and so on. Ready to expect the boringness when hot season.
4. Summer time the heat rise up to 50 degrees celcius. Its like a big hair dryer blowing to you.
5. Homesick was common, especially Eidul Fitri and Eidul Adha.

As long as you can face this challenge, then you will find the bright side in your life. Actually there are lots of new things to explore inside and outside your shell. Many were survive and stay, few i found had stayed here more than 10 years, and happy staying here.

For me, right now I was really miss my country, even bad news appeared everyday. I miss the rain, roti canai, teh tarik, jungle, waterfall, everything that I remembered. But this is my journey, sacrifice, exploring until I am enough with it. May be one day this will be my best memories ever. InsyaAllah.

Kampung Malaysia Al Khor
